Raro almanacco compilato in dialetto milanese, con parecchi passaggi in rima; in fine l'interessante Tabella delle Monete correnti nelle Città e Stato di Milano. Buon esemplare, lievissime fioriture marginali.2) Varon Milanes de la lengua de Milan. in-8 piccolo (145x90mm), pp. (14), 68, (manca l'ultima c. bianca), ritratto xilografico di giovane al frontespizio, capilettera xilografici. Rara seconda edizione di questo dizionario di lessico milanese, stampato per la prima volta a Pavia dal Bartoli, ma della cui mitica ed introvabile prima edizione non si ha traccia. L'opera si compone di: dedica di G. I. Como "All'Illustre Signor Hercole Galarato" e una prefazione dello stesso Como "A gli onorati lettori". La dedica, datata 6 marzo 1606, spiega come il Como abbia convinto Ignazio Albani a lasciargli stampare, ancorché imperfetto, "quel libretto delle parole Milanese" che "haveva nelle mani per emendarlo et accrescerlo"; la prefazione spiega come Gio. Ambrogio Biffi sia stato convinto a ragionare sulla pronuncia milanese per illustrare il Varon, ché altrimenti "non tutti haverebbono saputo pronuntiarlo come bisognava". Fra la dedica e la prefazione si trovano 9 fra sonetti e strambotti in milanese, riguardanti il libro. Il Varon occupa le pp. 1-54 e consiste di un'introduzione (presumibilmente di Ignazio Albani) a p. 1, di una lista di oltre 500 parole milanesi usate dal popolo, in ordine alfabetico, con traduzione italiana (pp. 2-28), e di una Esplicatione de i vocaboli milanesi (pp. 29-54), con meno di 200 lemmi, di cui si ricerca l'etimologia che l'Autore fa risalire al greco e al latino. Segue il Prissian da Milan de la parnonzia milanesa (pp. 55-68) di Biffi, prezioso trattatello in milanese sulla pronuncia milanese, destinato a chiarire il modo in cui bisognava pronunciare le parole citate nel Varon. Opera di grandissimo interesse perché, oltre a riportare il dialetto milanese dell'epoca, descrive numerosi aspetti della vita del tempo. Il Porta lo cita come il primo dei cinque pilastri della letteratura meneghina e fra gli altri scopi della pubblicazione vi è anche quello di dimostrare l'origine latina e greca del dialetto milanese. Il testo del Varon fu apprezzato e utilizzato nella tradizione dialettologica che va dal Cherubini al Rajna e al Salvioni, è non è ancora stato studiato come merita, sia in quanto documento linguistico, sia in quanto testimonianza importante di un capitolo della storia del pensiero linguistico e della cultura in generale nella prima metà del sec.
