Opera in cui Giovanni Tecca da Capistrano, frate minore riformato, ex Generale dei Francescani, si dichiara innocente dopo la condanna a tre anni di carcere da parte del Sacro Tribunale del S. Uffizio. La Badessa del Convento diÂMontecastrilliÂviveva in fama di santita' ma correvano alcune voci tendenziose che mettevano in dubbio la verita' del fatto. Fu ordinato a GiovanniÂTeccaÂda Capestrano di indagare ed accertarsi della verita'. Egli difese la badessa dalle accuse che le erano state mosse, ma il Sant'Uffizio in seguito scopri' l'inganno da parte della religiosa condannandola.ÂTecca, appena seppe delle decisioni del Sacro Tribunale, ritiro' la precedente difesa, ma cio' non valse ad essere, a sua volta, condannato a tre anni e tre mesi di carcere. Scontata la pena, nel 1835, venne rimesso in liberta' con l'obbligo di tenersi lontano dalla Corte pontificia. Scelse, come rifugio, il Convento di S.
