Mancanze al dorso, all'interno ottimo esemplare in barbe. «Il Cherubini si rivela poeta di facile vena bernesca, in cui emergono numerosi i motivi autobiografici accanto a temi più consueti, quali la polemica antifemminile e, soprattutto, contro il matrimonio ("vorre' m…orire anziché maritarmi."). Gli stessi versi riappariranno poi nel volume assai più ricco e vario delle "Poesie bernesche" (Venezia 1767) [.]. Accanto alle edite compaiono in questa edizione altre poesie spesso polemiche con i costumi e con le mode contemporanee, a partire dal teatro del Goldoni ("non lo posso sofferire") (Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani, s.v. Cherubini). Al frontespizio bel ritratto a piena pagina dell'autore ad opera di Alessandro Longhi, frontespizio finemente illustrato. Melzi, II, p. 352, con data errata, 1787 in 8°, cartonato officinale, titoli manoscritti al dorso, pp. X 200. Edizione originale. Al contropiatto anteriore ex libris araldico «Del Co. Sperello Aurelj per Cast. del Piano» Per il nome dell'autore, cfr. G. Melzi, «Dizionario di opere anonime… e pseudonime», v. 2, p. 352. Il volume si apre con la dedicatoria al sig. «Antonio Rossetti mercante di Trieste», cugino del Cherubini, ed è diviso in 32 capitoli, nei quali l'autore affronta i più svariati argomenti: dall'amicizia, il tema su cui si sofferma maggiormente, al modo di comportarsi con le donne, dalla vanità al gioco, dalle frodi alle offese. Notevole l'antiporta figurato in stile neoclassico e la vignetta al frontespizio, con una donna dalla testa alata. Molto raro, conservato in sole cinque biblioteche italiane. in 8°, gradevole legatura dell'epoca in mezza pelle rossa con angoli, ricchi fregi e titoli oro al dorso e agli angoli, pp. [4 con antiporta figurata e frontespizio] 270. Prima edizione. Ottimo esemplare, molto fresco e pulito, impresso con grande eleganza. Qualche segno marginale in lapis grigio. Al contropiatto anteriore ex libris araldico «Del Co. Sperello Aurelj per Cast. del Piano» gradevole legatura dell'epoca in mezza pelle rossa con angoli, ricchi fregi e titoli oro al dorso e agli angoli.
