Hardcover. Condizione: Used - Very Good. Since starting their practice in 1986, Iranian-born, American-educated sisters Gisue and Mojgan Hariri have earned widespread praise for their ambitious body of work. Their up-to-the-minute recasting of classical modernist principles has made them a source of continuing inspiration to design students and professionals alike. Over the course of recent years, the Hariris' portfolio has expanded from small-scale commissions to widely celebrated projects, including the much lauded 'Digital House' and the first house to be completed at The Houses at Sagaponac, the ambitious Hamptons development. Among the projects featured in Hariri &Hariri: Houses--illustrated in plans, drawings, and splendid full-color photography--are a new house for the AQUA development in Miami Beach; spectacular urban renovations in New York City; and magnificent new houses across the country, as well as international projects, all of which demonstrate the ability of the Hariris to combine modernist rigor with what New Yorker architecture critic Paul Goldberger identified as an 'understanding of the patterns of everyday life.' Very nice clean, tight copy free of any marks. wrapped in complimentary Brodart dust jacket protector.

Hardcover. Condizione: New. Hardcover. Quarto. White illustrated paper-covered boards. 162 pp., profusely illustrated. Multum in Parvo highlights the complex relationship between scale and size in the oeuvre of Alexander Calder (1898-1976) over a period of more than 30 years. As its title--translating to "much in little"--implies, the volume features over 40 rare small-scale sculptures, ranging from the size of a thumb to 30 inches tall, all of which feature the same physical qualities as Calder's largest mobiles in the most miniature of detail. In addition to archival material, installation photography of the sculptures in the environment designed for them by architects Santiago and Gabriel Calatrava, and original architectural sketches, the book also includes commissioned essays by Jed Perl, art historian and author currently at work on the first full-length biography of Alexander Calder, and Paul Goldberger, Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic, as well as poems by Karl Shapiro and John Updike.

Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Sehr gut.
