Aggiungi al carrelloCondizione: Sehr gut. Original cloth binding, 434 pages, 32 photos, spine a bit rubbed, otherwise very good condition Journalistic book about adventures with the Panchen Lama, who tried to have this book stopped because of its inaccuracies. Interesting for the numerous photos of the Panchen, not otherwise published. The Panchen Lama had, extraordinarily, a letter published in the Journal of the Royal Central Asia Society to refute several statements in this book (1936, vol. 23, p. 720). The US edition was published in 1935. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 1050.

Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Baldridge {Cyrus Leroy] (illustratore). First Edition. Large 8vo. Pp. x, [2], 3-305, followed by 127 pages of photos and full page captions. Illustrated endpapers. Bound in tan cloth with green and blue lettering and decoration on front board and spine. In the illustrated dust jacket, price clipped, spine a tad sunned and with light edge-wear. Inscribed by Edward Anthony on the front free endpaper. Inscription reads, "For -- --, with the sincere regard of [signed] Edward Anthony Nov. 20, 1935". A preposterous adventure involving author Enders' role as advisor to the Panchan Lama of Tibet, who adopted a plan of modernization for Tibet and his millions of worldwide followers. Somehow Enders was charged with transferring $100 million in Tibetan gold to banking institutions. Purportedly. See OSS in China: Prelude to Cold War by Maochun Yu for reference to Enders as "a bag of wind" in a brief sent to "Wild Bill" Donovan. The wrap-around dust jacket illustration by Cyrus Leroy Baldridge is a pictorial delight, evoking the exoticism of Tibet and a rakish Enders discussing a bag of gold. Dust jacket is now enclosed in a removable, clear archival sleeve. .
