Most of the insulating materials are not p…erfect in all respect and contain some impurities. The presence of air bubble is one of such impurities in insulating materials which is highly undesirable. Insulation of the HV power equipment gradually degrades due to the cumulative effect of electrical, chemical and thermal stress and aging. Due to the high voltage stress, the weak zone inside the insulator causes partial discharge (PD).This deteriorates the insulator. In this paper, an electrical circuit model of the solid insulator with void is used to study the PD activity leading to breakdown inside the insulator. Among the models (namely the capacitive model and induced charge concept model), the capacitive model is adopted in present work. The Simulink capacitive model implemented, effectively demonstrates the partial discharge process. The model is used to study and demonstrate the effect of the permittivity of cavity/impurity and breakdown inception voltage level of the impurity.

El aislamiento de los equipos de alta tensión se degrada gradualmente debido al efecto acumulativo del estrés eléctrico, químico y térmico y del envejecimiento. Debido a las tensiones de alta tensión, la zona débil del interior del aislante provoca una descarga parcial (DP) que deteriora el aislante. En este trabajo, se utiliza un modelo de circuito eléctrico del aislante sólido con huecos para estudiar la actividad de DP que conduce a la ruptura dentro del aislante. Entre los modelos (a saber, el modelo capacitivo y el modelo de concepto de carga inducida), en el presente trabajo se adopta el modelo capacitivo. El modelo capacitivo de Simulink implementado, demuestra efectivamente el proceso de descarga parcial. L'isolation de l'équipement électrique HT se dégrade progressivement en raison de l'effet cumulatif des contraintes électriques, chimiques et thermiques et du vieillissement. En raison de la contrainte de la haute tension, la zone faible à l'intérieur de l'isolant provoque une décharge partielle (DP), ce qui détériore l'isolant. Dans cet article, un modèle de circuit électrique de l'isolateur solide avec des vides est utilisé pour étudier l'activité de la DP menant à la rupture à l'intérieur de l'isolateur. Parmi les modèles (à savoir le modèle capacitif et le modèle de concept de charge induite), le modèle capacitif est adopté dans le présent travail. Die Isolierung von Hochspannungsanlagen verschlechtert sich allmählich durch die kumulative Wirkung von elektrischer, chemischer und thermischer Belastung und Alterung. Aufgrund der hohen Spannungsbelastung führt die Schwachstelle im Isolator zu einer Teilentladung (TE), die den Isolator verschlechtert.
