Gray, DSO, DFC & Two Bars (1914 â" 1995) was an RAF officer and the top New Zealand fighter ace of the Second World War, with at least 27 aerial victories. This is his first-person account of joining the RAF (on his third attempt), and his subsequent experiences which included patrolling Dunkirk, The Battles of both France and Britain, and the Circus offensive.
