Hermann Gressieker war Dramaturg und Regisseur in Dessau und Braunschweig, lebte seit den 1930er Jahren als Theater- und Filmkritiker in Berlin und war später als Chefdramaturg bei Heinz Hilpert an der Volksbühne und am Deutschen Theater tätig. Anschließend arbeitete Gressieker als Dozent für Dramaturgie an der Filmakademie Babelsberg (später Filmschule der UFA). Nach 1937 machte er sich als freier Schriftsteller für Bühne, Film und Rundfunk einen Namen. Als Autor und Regisseur der Dialogaufnahmen bearbeitete er die deutsche Synchronisation von mehr als 120 amerikanischen Filmen für Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer und Walt Disney. Seine Odysseus-Komödie Der Regenbogen' wurde 1947 in Frankfurt in einer Hilpert-Inszenierung uraufgeführt. 1956 wurde ihm der Gerhart Hauptmann-Preis verliehen. Ein Jahr später brachte er sein Schauspiel Heinrich VIII. und seine Frauen' gleichzeitig in Essen und Bremen auf die Bühne". Mit etwas auslaufendem Stift verfaßt.
