The interior has hot-yellow endpapers; its leaves are supple and creamy-bright despite a few pale freckles to the top-edge; it is completely clean. The original unclipped dustjacket ($15.00) shows a little toning with one tiny chip in the front corner. This is a lovely copy. Huxley perhaps wrote at the very least ten thousand letters The present compilation represents therefore a choice of fewer than two-fifths of the known items. Predominating here is material selected for its biographical, literary, or philosophical qualities. Included are a variety of subjects---music, literature, zoology, psychology, medicine, painting, movies, theatre, and mystical religions---on which he writes with ease, often with passion, never without humanity."
