Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an in-depth historical exploration of the Beaujolais region of France, situated north of Lyon. The author draws upon extensive archival research, contemporary chronicles, and local lore to trace the captivating tale of Beaujolais from its origins to the late 18th century. The book offers a comprehensive account of the region's influential rulers, the House of Beaujeu, who played a pivotal role in shaping the political and cultural landscape of medieval and Renaissance France. Through their strategic alliances and military prowess, the Beaujeu dynasty expanded their influence beyond their ancestral lands, becoming key players in the broader history of France. Delving into the social and economic fabric of Beaujolais, the author sheds light on the daily lives of its inhabitants, their customs, industries, and religious practices. The rich tapestry of the region's past is further illuminated through detailed descriptions of its architectural heritage, including castles, churches, and other landmarks that bear witness to the region's vibrant history. This meticulously researched volume not only enriches our understanding of Beaujolais but also contributes to the wider historical narrative of medieval and early modern France. It is a valuable resource for scholars, local historians, and anyone interested in the captivating story of this fascinating region. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
