Condizione: Gut. 53 S. Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg ruhten die Grabungen für mehr als ein Jahrzehnt und wurden erst 1931 unter der Leitung von Kurt Bittel wieder aufgenommen. Aufgrund des Zweiten Weltkriegs ruhten die Arbeiten nochmals ab 1939. Im Jahr 1952 konnte Bittel die Erforschung der Stadt fortsetzen. Schwerpunkte seiner Arbeit waren die Freilegung der Königsburg, großflächige Untersuchungen in der Unterstadt sowie Ausgrabungen in der Umgebung von Hattu a (Yazilikaya und Yarikkaya).
