Es bleibt ungreifbar, entzieht sich der Sprache, ist nur schwer fassbar, als bewegten wir uns unter Wasser oder als zeichneten unsere Versuche »eine Gebärde im Wasser« wie es in einem der Gedichte der brasilianischen Dichterin Sofia Mariutti. Bei der Übersetzung von Lyrik wird der Versuch unternommen, das Gedicht, diese unbestimmte und rätselhafte »Gebärde im Wasser« in einer anderen Sprache erlebbar werden zu lassen. Das Originalgedicht wird durch seine fremdsprachige Variante dann greifbarer es ist, als ob die Übersetzungsarbeit uns hilft, im lyrischen Wasser nach Luft zu schnappen und uns bewusst macht, dass wir uns zum Singen nicht des Kehlkopfes, sondern wie die Singvögel uns des Stimmkopfs bedienen müssen. Die Lyrikübersetzung wird zur Tracheotomie, wie es das Bild »Traqueotomia, 1990« vom brasilianischen Künstler Alex Flemming zeigt: eine Operation, die uns durch die scharfen Kanülen der lyrischen Sprache von den Grenzen der Einsprachigkeit befreit. Mehrsprachig Fluides zieht sich als basso continuo durch diese Sammlung brasilianischer und deutschsprachiger Lyrik der Gegenwart. Hier treffen sich einige noch Wenigen bekannte Stimmen beider Kulturräume in gegenseitiger und fließender Übersetzung.
