Color illustrated pastedown with red and black lettering on the front board and a black and white pastedown on the rear board with black lettering. 258 historical and fun-filled pages nicely enhanced by black and white illustrations! "There are two sides to every stone wall, I suppose; there certainly were to the one which divided the Burton Place from Mr. Fowler's. On the Burton side, the house was open only six months in the year. Some soil and foxing on cloth, corners bumped with cardboard exposed there, approximately 1/4 inch deep chipping off head and foot of spine. Internally, previous owner's inscription and small name label, endpapers tanned, 1/2 to 1 inch deep faint tan stain on side margins of first 20 or so leaves, occasional smudge and bit of foxing, a half dozen or so dogears, front and rear hinges starting to crack, shaken, otherwise clean and unmarked, decent overall. Victorian; children's.
