Jean Katherine Baird (1872 or 1873-1918) was the Dean of Women at Beaver College (now Arcadia College) in Beaver, Pennsylvania and the prolific author of short stories and books including the Hester series. Disappointed in love, she died as result of "poison self-administered while in a state of mental depression," according to the coroner's report. Baird was also the author of CASH THREE. Thomas Victor Hall (1879-1965) was an American illustrator, painter, and sculptor.
