A novelistic biography of Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, one of the artistic geniuses of the twentieth century, who was killed at Arras at the age of twenty-three. The artist and critic, H.S. 'Jim' Ede, having survived the war, came to see preservation of Gaudier-Brzeska's memory and reputation as 'an almost sacred duty'.
