No other defects noted to this tight, bright book with flawless interior text pages. This compilation of jokes, anecdotes, one-liners, and parables is the result of two lifetime experiences. One of those experiences has to do with the author's forty years of medical practice. The other has to do with forty plus more years of old fashioned human relations and the forging and accumulation of a lifetime of friendships. They are, perhaps, complementary experiences. While science and medicine are the critical elements of medicine, the human element is sometimes equally, if not of greater importance. Attitude often seems to carry the day for patients, and brought a healing that science and medicine alone seemed unable to accomplish. That healthy altitude associated with humor-with the ability to laugh at one's own infirmities is of paramount importance to physical healing. Humor is not laughing at others, but with others.
