She was once described as "the most popular box office attraction in Australian musical comedy since Gladys Moncrieff.From the collection of David Bacon, the nephew of Max Bacon. Before becoming a character actor, Max Bacon was one of the most significant drummers in Britain during the 1920s and 30s. He wrote Max on "Swing" (1934). David was the proprietor of the Heywood Hill Bookstore in Mayfair, London, which still exists.
