Simone Prunier, known as Madam Prunier, was a French restaurateur and food writer who established a well-known French restaurant in London. La Maison Prunier, a Paris restaurant founded by her grandfather Alfred Prunier which was later passed down to her father and then herself, became famous for the fresh fish and shellfish that was delivered daily by train from the sea, a novelty at the time. Madame Prunier later went on to open the Prunier St James's restaurant in London.
