Rebound in clean modern quarter leather, marbled and with gilt leather label, nicely done with new endpapers browned to suit originals.

This is the sixth edition and has been translated into English from the original German. Lorenz (Laurence) Heister (1683-1758) was a German anatomist, surgeon, and botanist. He spent his early years as a field surgeon in various conflicts before becoming a professor of anatomy and surgery at the University of Helmstedt. He coined the word "tracheotomy" and the plant genus "Heisteria" is named after him. . KCMS.
