In der Folgezeit befaBten sich zahlreiche experimentelle Arbeiten mit diesem Problemkreis, ohne daB es jedoch gelungen ware, mehr als eine phanomenologische Beschrei bung der ferromagnetischen Nachwirkung zu geben. Der im letzten Jahrzehnt erzielte Fortschritt bei der Deutung der Nachwirkungsphano mene beruht im wesentlichen auf der Entwicklung zweier anderer Teil gebiete der Festk6rperphysik, namlich der Theorie der Fehlstellen in Kristallen und der Theorie des Mikromagnetismus. Diese zwei Gebiete haben sichals unerlal3liche Grundlage fUr das atomistische Verstandnis der Nachwirkung erwiesen, da einerseits die Gitterfehler als die Ursache der Nachwirkung anzusehen sind, andererseits die Theorie des Mikro magnetismus uns in die Lage versetzt, Magnetisierungsvorgange sowie die Wechselwirkungsenergie zwischen Gitterfehlern und der spontanen Magnetisierung quantitativ zu behandeln. 1m Zusammenhang mit dem zuletzt genannten Problemkreis wur den am Max-Planck-Institut fUr Metallforschung in Stuttgart im Laufe der letzten dreil3ig Jahre zahlreiche Arbeiten tiber die st6rungsempfind lichen Eigenschaften der ferromagnetischen Hystereseschleife ausge fUhrt. Die neueren Ergebnisse zu diesem Problemkreis sind in der von A. SEEGER herausgegebenen Reihe 'Moderne Probleme der Metall physik', Band II, zusammenfassend dargestellt. Wahrend in jenem Werke die Behandlung statischer Eigenschaften der Magnetisierungs kurve im V ordergrund stand, ist das jetzt vorliegende Buch ausschliel3lich den zeitabhangigen Eigenschaften der Ferromagnetika gewidmet. Das zentrale Anliegen dieses Buches ist die Anwendung der modernen Er kenntnisse tiber Gitterfehler und Mikromagnetismus auf die Analyse der bei der Nachwirkung ablaufenden Vorgange.
