Exterior shows spotting and scuffing along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Spine is mildly faded as well. The internal binding is good at the front board but the rear board shows some closed cracking starting. Pages are toned due to age and some light spotting and foxing is present as well as smudge marks. Inscribed on the front end page: "five Miss Mary Dorsey with complements of the author" and below this is the author signature along with a date of February 9, 1938. In the upper right corner of this same page is very faint evidence of what appears to be a price that was once penciled and then later erased. No other handwriting found in the book.
