A single printed leaf removed from larger volume with copy of correspondence from Thomas Hicks, Governor of Maryland, reporting that Virginia troops are stationed at Harper's Ferry and have expropriated property (i.e. grain) belonging to a citizen of Maryland (Harper's Ferry was captured 6 days earlier). Charles F. Wenner replies that it was his grain taken without payment, followed by Sheriff Michael H. Haller's report of his meeting with Haller. Wenner was eventually paid by the State of Virginia.
