Not a book but a 10-inch, 33-1/3 rpm vinyl jazz record album, Brunswick Long Play Microgroove Unbreakable Record BL 58006, near-mint vinyl in a very-good-plus cardboard jacket. Jacket indicates these classic jazz sides were recorded at the Apex Club, Chicago, in 1928, though this 10-inch vinyl LP was released in 1950. Joe Poston contributes alto sax, Buddy Scott banjo, Johnny Wells drums. For four cuts Lawson Buford was added on tuba. The band offers "Sweet Lorraine," Earl Hines' "My Monday Date," Victor Young's "Sweet Sue -- Just You," five others. Reduced from $25.

Not a book but a 10-inch, 33-1/3 rpm Long Playing (mono, monaural) vinyl record, RCA Victor LPT-20, with red type on a silver label, near-mint vinyl in a near-mint cardboard jacket with minor age-darkening to edges of rear panel but intact and retaining its original gloss. The "Popular Collector's Issue" designation indicates the recording quality here is "not representative of RCA Victor's present day (1950s) high quality standards," meaning these tracks are reissues, having been originally recorded between Dec. 2, 1940 ("Jelly, Jelly," credited to band leader Hines & vocalist Eckstine) and March 19, 1942, for initial release on 78 rpm shellac. Also includes Ellington's "I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good," and "Skylark," credited to Johnny Mercer and Hoagy Carmichael. Both Hines and Eckstine were born in Pittsburgh in 1914. Catalogs $120; here reduced from $65.

Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm vinyl record album, CBS Stemra 63364, near-mint vinyl in a very-good-plus cardboard jacket, "Made in Holland." Four tracks including "I Ain't Got Nobody" recorded in Chicago 1928, four more tracks recorded in New York 1932, while the six tracks on Side Two (including "'Deed I Do" and "These Foolish Things") were recorded in New York 1950 with J.C. Heard, drums, and Al McKibben, bass. This LP identifies itself as "stereo," though the chances these tracks from 1950 and earlier were originally RECORDED in stereo seem slim. Reduced from $32.

Slight evidence of handling to exterior (edgewear, marginal crimping) else in good clean unmarked condition. Earl Kenneth Hines acquired the nickname "Fatha" and it erased "Kenneth" handily. No hint here of its existence.
