Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. various (illustratore). 1st Edition. An absolutely stunning copy of the hardback edition of the 1925 yearbook of decorative art. This luxurious 10/6 yearbook was also published as a 7/6 softback edition, so not so many of these larger, lavishly bound hardback editions were sold in the difficult economic times of the late 1920s. To have survived the war years and all the intervening decades and emerge nearly 90 years later with a dustwrapper in super-fine condition is quite remarkable. The owner from new was a Dover-based cabinet maker supplying the Royal Household with furniture and so, unsurprisingly, he was something of a perfectionist in all that he practised. As we often used to do with our school text books, he covered the book with thick brown paper in March 1925 when he inscribed it in pencil. It comprises 194 pages of lovely images, photos and descriptions of all the latest ideas and creations in the field of art, architecture, interior and exterior design, furniture, porcelain and glassware.Really fresh purpley-dark blue cloth with blind-stamping "S" design, gilt lettering and top edges gilt. Fine in every respect except for a little offsetting to the free endpapers. Acknowledgement by H.R.H. The Duke Of York, introductory piece by Neville Chamberlain, the Minister of Health, and a foreword by artist Frank Brangwyn. An real beauty and surely the finest available anywhere on the open market. We also are lucky to have similar condition copies of the luxurious hardback yearbooks in dustwrappers from 1923, 1924 plus 1926, 1927 and 1929, available at the same price.
