Aggiungi al carrelloPamphlet. First edition. Fine pamphlet with a tiny closed tear to the back cover. SHIPS THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING AND CARDBOARD. The guide to Event Horizon, 31 sculptures by Antony Gormley displayed around New York City, March 26 - August 15, 2010. Originally mounted in London in 2007, the project consisted of 31 life-size anatomically correct male bodies, 27 constructed of fiberglass and four of cast iron, all cast from the body of the artist himself. In 2010, the Event Horizon sculptures were installed in New York City at sites around Madison Square, as far downtown as Union Square and as far uptown as the Empire State Building. The 27 fiberglass figures were placed on setbacks and tops of buildings, while the four cast iron figures were on the ground in Madison Square Park. It was Gormley's first American public art project. This pamphlet includes a map that locates all 31 sculptures plus photographs of each in situ with a paragraph of descriptive copy. Statement by the artist; photographs by James Ewing; text by Mort Sheinman; introduction by Howard Halle; statement by Michael Bloomberg.
