Estudou na Academia Belga de Belas-Artes e teve como professor e orientador Leon Devos. É mencionado em centenas de artigos de imprensa e conta com várias exposições individuais e colectivas no seu currículo. A sua obra está espalhada por diversas colecções particulares, tendo algumas sido adquiridas pelo Estado belga. Na fase mais tardia da sua arte (a partir dos anos 80 do século XX) debruçou-se sobre a cultura dos índios norte-americanos, tendo pintado diversas telas com este tema (paisagens, povo, retratos de chefes, etc.). Na nossa opinião, e apesar da legenda na parte posterior da tela, este quadro poderá ter como tema a tribo dos Seminoles, oriunda inicialmente da Flórida, perto do rio Suwanee. Artist Guy Huygens is a Belgian Painter. He studied at the Beaux Arts Academy of Brussels under the guidance of Leon Devos. He has appeared in more than one hundred press articles. The deep forest painting is one of the favourite subjects by Guy Huygens. He paints Native American peoples, chiefs, landscapes, and subjects. In our opinion, and in spite of the written title on the back of the canvas, it might depict the Seminoles, originally from near Suwannee River, in Florida.
