Aggiungi al carrellohardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Most of our very good books have only minor imperfections such as shelf wear consistent with a new book that's sat on a bookshop shelf for a year or two. Occasionally we may miss other minor imperfections as we have to grade books at speed. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.
Hardback. Condizione: New. Only those who love colour are admitted to its beauty and immanent presence. It affords utility to all, but unveils its deeper mysteries only to its devotees. Johannes IttenOn Colour. draws on the theories of colour harmony that Johannes Itten taught at the Bauhaus, and on the literature of Mazdaznan, Rosicrucianism and Theosophy. It describes how one can, potentially, produce the white cloud of invisibility and documents the author's own attempts to manifest the cloud. These manifestations have a complex group of antecedents that include Lawrence Weiner's early spray-painted works, John Latham's One Second Drawings, Robert Irwin's luminous disc paintings of the 1960s and representations of the ineffable made by spiritualists and occultists.

The source text for this new version. was published in 1940 by the Mazdaznan Library. Birkdale, Lancashire." -- 'A note on the text and illustrations', following p. 43 (i). "This book explores the intimate relationship between Mazdaznan, Johannes Itten and the Vorkurs (Preliminary or Foundation Course) at the Bauhaus, Weimar. It is a practical guide to performing the exercises that Itten taught at the Bauhaus and a celebration of a moment of mysticism at the heart of Modernism. [It] has been newly illustrated by Ian Whittlesea with drawings of current Foundation [art] students [at Kingston University, Surrey] demonstrating the exercises. It is followed by a selection of found texts and images that go some way to explaining the beliefs and history of Mazdaznan." -- back cover.
