Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm vinyl rock 'n roll record album, End 305, a very-good-plus glossy cardboard jacket with what may be a small telephone number written in ballpoint at top of both sides, and 11 cuts of lovely, near-mint vinyl ruined by a serious multiple needle-dig to the last cut on Side 2 only, that being The Isley Brothers' "My Love," which will not play without skipping. So how do you grade 11 near-mint tracks and one that's hopeless? We'll compromise and say "fair overall" -- early, 1950s material by the Isleys ("Everybody's Gonna Rock & Roll," "Rockin' McDonald"), The Dubs ("Be Sure My Love," "Is There a Love for Me?") and the Flamingos ("At the Prom") can be hard to find. Here reduced from $18.

Prima edizione
No Binding. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 7-inch, 45 rpm vinyl "single," End E-1027, very-good-plus vinyl (could actually be Styrene) with a few smudges, brown rectangular stain to B-side label where someone once presumably placed a piece of tape, said tape now gone. First single at End Records for Clarence Collins' group, previously known as the Chesters, and their first big hit. WABC disc jockey Alan Freed, who knew lead tenor Anthony Gourdine, received the demo -- credited to "The Imperials" -- and introduced it on the air with "And here's a new record that's making a lot of noise, LITTLE ANTHONY and The Imperials singing 'Tears On My Pillow.'" The phone lines lit up, at which point the folks at George Goldner's year-old End Records knew they had a hit -- and a problem. They didn't HAVE any records that said they were by anyone called "Little Anthony." So they made the obvious call to the plant (pardon us if we paraphrase): "You know that new 45 by the Imperials? Well I need like a hundred thousand new labels by tomorrow, only they've got to say they're by LITTLE ANTHONY and the Imperials, see?" Which is why original copies of End Records E-1027 credited simply to "The Imperials" (like this one) are now worth basically twice what the revised (and far more common) "Little Anthony and the Imperials" versions will command. This one now reduced from $14.
