Red cloth with gilt title to spine. Colour frontis and b/w plates. This volume contains a selection, in two sequences, from the wireless stories of an author who is known to radio audiences both as a dramatist and a story-teller. A few small marks to covers. Wrapper is edge-torn and chipped, with minimal loss; some grubby marks and creasing. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Barnard, Mary McLean, & others. The first story is titled A Bun for Edgar, by Isobel Mount. No date (circa mid-1950s). Numerous classic 1950s-vintage b&w illustrations throughout. Complete with colour frontispiece, plus 3 additional colour plates, as issued. The plates are by Cicely Steed (frontispiece & 1 other), W. Lindsay Cable, & "Mavs". Front cover with colour illustration of a girl & boy gathering sticks for a campfire. Large format volume. Printed in Great Britain. Bound in original colour pictorial boards, pictorial endpapers, in publisher's price-clipped matching pictorial dustjacket. Slight handling wear, mild marginal spotting & toning, price-clipped dustjacket with large closed tears & soiling & faint staining & loss to head of spine, otherwise a nice clean tight solid hardcover copy. The dustjacket is now protected in a removable clear mylar cover. Unpaginated. SB-6.

Hbk; no d/w; slight remains of a little white paper stuck to the blue cover; some peeling of blue cloth down the edges of spine, and edges of boards; a previous owner has used the fep to add up numbers, and the empty part of final page of text plus the rear end paper to list subjects they were taking for o levels in different arrangements! ! They were obviously short of paper at the time for such things. Fortunately they left the rest of the book completely clean. Though the characters are fictitious, the place descriptions are accurate and much of the information for writing was gathered from the local young farmers. Apart from young farmers at Gaythorne, this series are quite difficult to find. ; Young Farmers; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
