In diesem Zusammenhang hatte Rosa Luxemburgs undogmatischer, kritischer und offener Marxismus Eingang in die De…batten gefunden insbesondere ihr Diktum von der »Freiheit der Andersdenkenden«. Chinesische Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler schenkten schon seit Anfang der 1980er-Jahre Leben und Werk Rosa Luxemburgs zunehmende Beachtung. 1984 erschien ein erster Band mit »Ausgewählten Werken«, ein zweiter, in den auch ihr bekanntes Manuskript von 1918 über die russische Revolution aufgenommen wurde, folgte 1990. Mehrere nationale und internationale Rosa-Luxemburg-Tagungen wurden veranstaltet. Die hier dokumentierte Veranstaltung in Guangzhou fand im Jahr 2004 zum 10.
