Bella e solida legatura coeva in pieno marocchino marrono, piatti inquadrati da un doppio filetto impresso a secco ed in oro, grande medaglione a fleuron al centro di entrambi i piatti, dorso a sette cassetti ornati da motivi floreali; raffinati tagli dorati con splendide decorazioni damascate a rilievo. Esemplare delicatamente reglé in rosso. Capilettera xilografici. Marca tipografica (L09067) sul frontespizio. Carattere corsivo, greco e romano. Esemplare in ottimo stato di conservazione nella sua affascinante legatura coeva. La prima edizione delle Novelle di Leone VI il Saggio (866-912) è opera di Scringer, che corregge solo imperfettamente il manoscritto; Henri Estienne la stampa nel 1558 e pubblica una serie di correzioni alla fine del volume. La prima traduzione in latino apparve nel 1560 ad opera di Henri Agylee. La prima aggiunta dell'opera di Leone, le Novelle, all'opera di Giustiniano avvenne nel 1571 nell'edizione di questa copia. In questa edizione, il testo di Scringer [in greco] di fronte alla traduzione di Agylee, occupa le pagine da 235 a 665. Seguono: la Costituzione di Zenone, le Castigationes di Henri Estienne, il Libro dei Feudi, le Costituzioni di Federico II, gli Extravagantes e il Libro della Pace di Costanza.
