Broadbent, a literary critic.With an illustrated frontispiece. Previously owned by Roger Senhouse (1899-1970) an English publisher and translator and a peripheral member of the Bloomsbury Group. The private letters of writer and Bloomsbury Group memberLytton Stracheyreveal that Senhouse was his (last) lover, and with whom in the late "20s and early 1930s he had asado-masochisticsexual relationship. In the publisher's quarter paper vellum, with decorative paper covered boards.Externally, very smart, with slight yellowing to the paper vellum and rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Small ownership bookplate of one Richard Luckett to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with minor spotting to the endpapers. Very Good.
