Volume III, VI and XIV of the New Series of this quarterly journal and review, The Reliquary and Illustrated Archaeologist, devoted to the study of the early Pagan and Christian antiquities of Britain; Medieval architecture and ecclesiology; the development of the arts and industries of mankind in past times; and the survivals of ancient usages and appliances in the present. Volume III (1897) and VI (1900) were edited by J. Romilly Allen (1847-1907), a British archaeologist particularly interested in the antiquities of Wales and Scotland. Volume XIV (1908) is a presentation copy, and was edited by Rev. J. Charles Cox (1843-1919), an English cleric and local historian.
