Aggiungi al carrelloCloth. Condizione: Very Good. First edition. An uncommon English translation of the sagas of the tenth century king Olaf Tryggvason. A first edition of this English translation of the sagas of Óláfr Tryggvason, a 10th-century Norwegian king. In this uncommon volume, J. Stephson translates the text from the Fornmanna Sogur, print…ed in Copenhagen in 1825. The first sagas about the king were written in the 1190s by Oddr Snorrason and Gunnlaugr Leifsson, and although these latin sagas are now lost, they are thought to have formed the basis of later Old Norse sagas. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper 'B. J. Findlay' In the publisher's original cloth binding over card boards. Externally, generally smart. A centimetre of the paper is lifting to the rear board, and the cloth is rubbed around the rear joint. Lightly bumped to the extremities, and to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good. None (illustratore). book.
