This is the final work of significant British… writer Francis Adams, who passed away before finishing the final chapter. The book was then edited and published posthumously by J. W. Longsdon. Adams spent his last Winter in Alexandria and was openly critical of the British rule in Egypt. In publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, heavier to the spine head, and a few marks, the most prominent being to the rear board. Internally, generally firmly bound with a little tension to the front hinge and the odd delicate page throughout. Spotting mainly contained to the first and last few pages, leaving the remainder of the text bright and clean. Very Good. Not Stated (illustratore). book.
