Rebacked, new leather spine label. Corners bumped, worn. Marbled end sheets. [viii], 276, [8] pp.; frontispiece, 23 plates (4 double-page), and 4 vignettes after Ch…arles Parrocel and Coquart, engraved by Aveline and Tardieu. 13-14 p. has a marginal tear. A few scattered spots, but generally clean. Some of the plates have old tape repairs. The first folio edition and most desirable edition of this work (first issued in 16mo editions in 1729-1731, without Parrocel's illustratins).
