Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a comprehensive examination of the medical treatment of uterine inversion, a perilous displacement that can occur during childbirth or from the removal of a tumor. The author presents a historical overview of the condition, including the various techniques used to treat it, from manual repositioning to elastic bags and rods. The author was instrumental in developing the sigmoid repositor, a device for applying sustained elastic pressure to the inverted uterus, and provides detailed instructions for its use. The book also includes case studies and successful treatment outcomes using the sigmoid repositor, demonstrating its effectiveness in curing chronic uterine inversion. The author concludes by emphasizing that, with the use of this device, mutilating surgeries to remove the uterus are no longer necessary for treating this condition. The book offers valuable insights for medical professionals seeking to expand their knowledge and improve the treatment of uterine inversion. Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a comprehensive history of Roche Abbey, a medieval Cistercian religious house founded in the twelfth century, written by local architectural historian and author G.N. Vicker. The book takes as its focus the community who inhabited this once important religious institution, from its earliest recorded members to the last of the abbots, also covering the patronage of important local families, the extensive lands owned by the community, and the architectural history of the site.
