Tropfspuren (Buchstabenverlust), fleckig. - Jantsch (1845 - 1899), mußte als Sohn eines Handwerkers das Studium am Wiener Polytechnikum aus finanziellen Gründen abbrechen, war dann seit 1860 Stenograph im öffentlichen Dienst und gab ab 1862-66 das "Stenographische Wochenblatt" heraus. 1867 entschied sich J. für eine Bühnenkarriere, absolvierte seine Ausbildung am Sulkowskitheater und spielte danach an verschiedenen österr. und deutschen Provinztheatern, u.a. 1869/70 als jugendlicher Held am Hoftheater in Meiningen. 1870-75 in Halle/Saale, am Deutschen Theater in Budapest und am Mainzer Stadttheater engagiert, übernahm er 1875 das Victoria-Theater in Frankfurt/Main und leitete 1882-86 das Stadttheater von Danzig. 1886-89 wirkte J. als Theaterleiter in Halle/Saale, 1890-92 in Königsberg und kehrte anschließend nach Wien zurück, wo er 1892 das Fürsttheater im Prater kaufte und als Wiener Volkstheater im k.k.
