Presumed reprint, though not stated as such. It is dated 1971 to the copyright page, whereas the BL held copy was apparently published in 1970, and there are reviews to the dust jacket. 221 pages. Signed and inscribed by the author to the front endpaper: "For Alan Gauld with all good wishes from Archie Jarman Oct. 1971". The rec…ipient was notable parapsychologist and paranormal investigator, Alan Gauld (1932-2024). The book is firmly bound in lightly marked yellow cloth, lettered in black to the spine, the boards are a trifle bowed and the extremities are slightly bumped and rubbed. The text block is slightly toned, marked, musty and dusty. The dust jacket is the original and not price clipped, it is quite age toned, slightly marked and rubbed, with small chips and short closed tears to the edges. A critique of fraudulent mediums and ghost hunters, couched in the form of a heavy-handedly satirical novel. Quite uncommon signed and this copy with a good association.
