Wegen des Erfolgs ließ er 1899 Der Richter von Zalamea" folgen. In Hamburg brachte er 1903 seine Kleist-Oper Der zerbrochene Krug", die er später zu Johanniszauber" umschrieb. 1907 folgte er seinem Bruder Josef Jarno nach Wien, wo dieser seit 1899 Direktor des Theaters in der Josefstadt war. Zusammen mit Bernhard Buchbinder schrieb Jarno Die Försterchristel", die ein großer Erfolg wurde.
