Original French press kit for the 1961 French-Italian film, "Le rendez-vous." Text in French. Resembling the star biography and film credit packets often seen with US press kits, this material details film credits, cast and crew biographies, and a synopsis. The film was produced by Cinetel, but here is credited to publicity mana…ger G. de Boissiere, with their cute cat logo. Unseen noir based on Patrick Quentin's 1955 novel, "The Man with Two Wives," released in France as "La Verite du Mensonge." Pierre (Pascal) witnesses a murder while with his wife Madeleine (Girardot), the decease being a photographer who snapped some lurid photos of Pierre's sister-in-law, Daphne (Parisy). Pierre gives Daphne a false alibi, and the police discover the photographer was Madeleine's lover. 22 leaves, printed rectos, a few corner-stapled, on "DEB (de Boissiere) parchment, mimeograph duplication. Housed in a DEB pocketed paper folder, 8.5 x 12.25 inches. Near Fine overall.

Based on the 1942 comic play by Alfred Adam. On the eve of his daughter's 16th birthday, a father hires a man to dress as the ghost of the figure in her favorite painting. Two suitors also dress as ghosts to vie for her attention. All this commotion causes the real ghost to appear in order to help Sylvie sort everything out. 12.25 x 9.5 inches. Saddle stapled. Near Fine with cello tape reinforcements to the staples. Signed.

Five vintage borderless reference photographs, shot on location during the making of the 1947 French film noir. Included are: Michelene Presle revealing a French "Devil in the Flesh" street sign, a charming photograph of Gerard Philipe and Presle, Presle and Philipe posing with the cast, and two of the cast and crew celebrating…with champagne. All with French annotations in manuscript ink, a blue French legal stamp, a red stamp requesting the return to the French Embassy in Brussels (in French), and each with it's own corresponding stamped number ("3442," "3443," "3444," "3445," and "3447"), all on verso. Four with an additional red stamp also requesting return to French Embassy in Brussels (also in French), also on verso. Photographs presumably were released for the film's premiere at the Festival Mondial du Film et des Beaux-Arts in Brussels on June 15, 1947. Based on the 1923 novel "Le Diable au corps" by Raymond Radiguet. Marthe, her husband Jacques on the front lines of World War I, begins a tempestuous affair with the sensitive 17-year old student Francois. Shot on location in Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Bords de la Marne, and Val-de-Marne, France. Four: 7.25 x 9.5 inches, One: 7.25 x 7.5 inches. Some very light creasing and edgewear, else Near Fine.
