Softcover, staple-bound, 28 pages, very good condition, clean and crisp; no internal marks. Foreign shipping may be extra.
Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. 5" x 5" hardcover exhibition catalog without dust jacket as issued. NEAR FINE condition. Actual book is pictured. See images provided. Edition of 1000. Published on the occasion of the exhibition: Jean-Frederic Schnyder at Swiss Institute - Contemporary Art, November 22, 2011 to Febrauary 26, 2012. Contains 35 color plates, an essay by Gianni Jetzer, and the story of Hansel and Gretel from Grimm's Fairy Tales. All pages clean without any markings, notations or folds. The exhibit was entitled Landschaft (Landscape) I-XXXV (19901991), a typical example of his vision of painting. After finding a subject, he examines every possibility in his imagination without making preparatory drawings. The common denominator of this series is the archetypal small house presented in 35 small format oil paintings. Schnyder's approach is purely nonchalant, a balancing act between humor and kitsch; a persiflage about Western art. The book is in English.
