Paperback. Condizione: Acceptable. Librairie Renouard, Henri Laurens, Ed. [Published Date: No date listed, circa 1909]. Booklet, paper covers, 80 pp., plus 24 pages of plates. Text in French. In acceptable condition. Brown paper covers have some chipping and tears along edges and corners and light overall scuffing, aging and soi…ling. Glue and string binding is cracking and beginning to pull apart but strings are still holding the text block together well. Light chipping and tearing along edges of text block. Pages are lightly aged but otherwise unmarked. Not Ex-library. No remainder marks. A critical biography of Jean-Francois Millet (1814 - 1875), a French painter and one of the founders of the Barbizon school in rural France. He is noted for his scenes of peasant farmers. He is considered as part of both the "naturalism" and "realism" movements. Contents include: Naissance et annees d'enfanco de J.-F.
