Ex-library book of The Midland Assocation of Mountaineers (bookplate to front). Covers worn and bumped with wear to head and foot of spine. Some fraying to gutters and glue mark to spine, from an old library label. Binding loose but intact with hinges beginning to crack. With careful handling the binding should hold but it is fragile. Previous owners' names and notes to endpapers. Periodic small library stamps throughout. Main frontis map badly torn but complete. 7 of the other 8 maps present with folding faults resulting edges protruding from the text block and with the odd small tear but generally in reasonable condition. Map of Mont Blanc area is missing. Text has some general marking but remains perfectly readable.
