Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.

A story set in Roman Britain in the late second century AD, mostly around Hadrian's Wall. The author was a Sir Philip Howard Pilditch, Conservative MP for Spelthorne, Middlesex between 1918 and 1931. The name Baltropp comes from his house (now long-demolished) in Weybridge, Surrey. A second, abridged, edition was published in 1938. 320pp, 1 map. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
