Davis has drawn what appears to be himself costumed as Santa Claus on folded light brown card stock. Looking rather gloomy and thin, one arm extends onto the next page. The hand of the completed arm holds a paint brush with which he has written his name ending with the "S" of Davis almost touching the brush. On the front of the card, near Santa's hat, Davis has penned "Merry Christmas." Davis's Santa appears to be the opposite of the usual image but characteristic of Davis's . The folded card measures 3 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. Davis, one of the founding artists of Mad Magazine (1952), is perhaps best known for his contributions. His long and lean Santa reflects his characteristic style. Signed.
