'It is the 1920s: The buffalo are long gone from the plains, the Comanche long vanquished. Only the old remember. An aging Comanche named Starlight and eight members of his tribe come from Oklahoma to the Texas ranch of Tom Bird. They demand the largest of his buffalo, which they hope to kill in the traditional way of their people. The old rancher finally concedes. Filled with remembrances of old raids, narrow escapes, and bold blood now gone, this timeless story brings to life the tensions between justice and regret, mourning and reawakening.'.
