With a blank section next to each date where the owner can write people's birthdays down. Collected and arranged by M.A.B. (accredited to Maud A. Bateman), and G.A. (accredited to Grace Allen). John Ruskin was an art critic and writer in Victorian England, being an influential figure in the art world, especially with the Pre-Raphaelites. He was also greatly admired by Leo Tolstoy, Marcel Proust, and William Morris. During his life, he published numerous writings on a variety of topics, including geology, architecture, myths, botany and politics. The half title page is present. In the original paper covered boards. Externally, a trifle rubbed with shelf wear to the extremities. Cracks to the joints. Marks to the boards and spine. Fading to the spine. Marks to the spine label. Large tear to the upper spine, and bumping to the lower spine. Spotting and offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age-toned but otherwise bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Several pages are uncut throughout. Spotting to the fore-edge. Good. book.
