Born in an isolated on the island of Grenada, he arrived in England aged 19 and enlisted. As driver of a Warrior armoured fighting vehicle, he carried out two acts of outstanding heroism in Southern Iraq, saving the lives of 30 of his companions, aged just 24. In the second action, a rocket propelled grenade exploded 6 inches from his head, yet he managed to reverse his vehicle out of an ambush zone before collapsing.
