Oplage beperkt tot 1000 genummerde exemplaren. Dit is nr. 269. Verhalen is een postuum gepubliceerde bundel van Karel van de Woestijne, verschenen in 1944. De bundel bevat pro…zateksten die de thematische en stilistische kenmerken van Van de Woestijne's oeuvre weerspiegelen. Zijn werk staat bekend om de verfijnde expressie van de moderne psyche, waarin het conflict tussen lichamelijkheid en spiritualiteit centraal staat. De verhalen in deze bundel zijn doordrenkt van symboliek en mystiek, en tonen de innerlijke strijd van de mens tussen aardse verlangens en hogere idealen. De toevoeging van vier droge-naaldetsen door J. Gorus versterkt de contemplatieve en introspectieve sfeer van de teksten. Karel van de Woestijne was een Vlaamse dichter en schrijver, geboren in Gent. Hij studeerde aan de Universiteit van Gent en werd beïnvloed door het Franse symbolisme. Van de Woestijne was een prominent lid van de literaire beweging 'Van Nu en Straks' en werkte als correspondent voor de Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant. In 1920 werd hij benoemd tot hoogleraar Nederlandse letterkunde aan de Universiteit van Gent. Zijn werk wordt gekenmerkt door een diepgaande verkenning van de menselijke ziel, met thema's als zinnelijkheid, religie en mystiek.

Mechelen, Willy Godenne, 1926, in-8°, 21 cm, 51 pp + publicity leaves, original stiff wrapper. Program for the year 1926 of the carillon concerts in Mechlin. Texts in Dutch, French and English. The front cover of this booklet is designed by Jos Leonard (StudioNovio ). It is a purely abstract design in the manner of the ''Futuris…t'' style. Rare in this pristine condition. Added is the same publication but for the following year ( 1927). This time the designer recedes from his futurist work. The front cover represent the bell tower of the Mechlin cathedral. (this issue also in very fine condition). Price for the two items.

Kleine gaatjes op de hoekvouwen, verder zeer gaaf. Informatief blad uit de vroege dagen van Studio Novio, het samenwerkingsverband van ontwerper…Jos Léonard en drukker Willy Godenne. We zien bekende en onbekende beeldmerken van allerlei bedrijven, zoals Bussen Jonckheere, Mollith en Steenbrugge - en van Godenne en Novio zelf. Manifest voo…r de tentoonstelling in de Koninklijke Musea van het Jubelpark te Brussel, 23 oktober - 14 november 1926. Van Haute A001/010. Uitnodigingen: Nederlandstalige briefkaart gedrukt (10 x 15 cm) in zwart met groen kader, met het beeldmerk van Studio Novo. Vergelijk met A001/008, een Nederlandstalige uitnodiging zonder groen en zonder afbeelding. Franstalige briefkaart gedrukt (10 x 15 cm) in zwart met groen kader, met het beeldmerk van Studio Novo. Niet in Van Haute. Jos Léonard was een belangrijk vernieuwer van de typografie in België. Hij was bevriend met Paul van Ostaijen, Jozef Peeters en de gebroeders Jespers. Vanaf 1926 werkte hij samen met de drukker Willy Godenne. Het manifest is ondertekend met twee vierkanten, waarin men (met wat moeite) de initialen van de twee companen kan herkennen: G en L.

Malines, Godenne, [c. 1928] pour l'album. Environ 80 dessins et graphismes originaux à l'encre de Chinenoire et quelques travaux d'imprimerie annotés de et par Jos Léonard. Très intéressant ensemble pour l'histoire de ce bureau graphique de la fin des années 20, début 30. Bon etat. Collation : Album oblong, 25,1 x 33,9 cm, couve…rture à motifs répétés imprimés + un ensemble de 15 feuillets. Album personnel de Willy Godenne, imprimeur à Malines et membre du Studio Novio avec le graphiste Jos Léonard. Il compte 83 travaux d'imprimerie et/ou publicitaire du Studio Novio, documents internes comme travaux réalisés pour d'autres comme le photographe René Malevez ou le sculpteur (!!) Willy Kessels, bientôt photographe également.
